Installing or updating a beta build

Save your backup code. Arena, Settings, Backup code. It carries your creatures, not a held egg or an unfinished recording.
Finish any recording before replacing an app.
Use the package for your exact watch. A file built for another model will not run.
Copy the files over the existing ones in GARMIN/Apps, keeping their filenames. Do not uninstall and do not delete app data.
Update Arena and Face together. Eject, reboot the watch, then open Arena once so the face picks up your creature.
Check your roster, nicknames and levels before you train.

Garmin keeps running the old version of an app after an overwrite until the watch restarts. The reboot is not optional.

Common questions

My face shows a wild creature, not mine.: Open Arena once. The face learns your active creature from the Arena, and the Arena only publishes it while it is open. Both apps must be installed from the same package set.
The face says "Egg ready! Open Arena".: Today's egg is ready. Open Arena, Roster, Egg, Hatch egg. If the roster is full the face says so; free a slot or move a creature to the phone Vault.
My recording stopped when the app closed.: Open Arena again. The open recording is reattached as a rest and you can resume or save it. If it cannot be reattached you get a menu to keep the checkpoint or drop it.
Distance on a wet trail run was short.: Some watches stall their distance counter in rain. Coach keeps its own GPS odometer and credits the larger of the two. Turn on Settings, Rain lock before a wet run so taps on the screen do not act as presses.
Two watches will not pair for a battle.: Both must run the same protocol version. Update both watches, then try again. Pairing uses ANT and needs the watches within a few metres.
Does Plus guarantee a creature?: No. Plus makes the released species eligible for your new eggs. Activity shifts the odds; nothing guarantees a particular hatch, and duplicates happen.
Does the stroller weight change my XP?: No. Weights only feed the personal pace estimate, and only after you calibrate it with your own runs. XP, Grit and distance come from the measured run like any other.
Battery?: The face updates once a minute on MIP watches and keeps animation to a short window on AMOLED. We have not published measured battery figures and will not until they are measured on real watches.

Privacy and data requests
